- Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
- No. The image is decoded and redrawn on a canvas inside your browser, and the download is generated on your own device — the file never leaves it.
- How does the crop frame work?
- The preview is the crop. Pick a preset, then drag the image to reposition it and zoom in until the frame is filled the way you want — what you see is exactly what gets exported.
- What resolution do I get?
- Each preset exports at the size that platform recommends — an Instagram square is 1080 × 1080, a YouTube thumbnail 1280 × 720, an X header 1500 × 500, and so on. Freeform lets you type any width and height up to 8000 px.
- Which format should I choose?
- PNG keeps transparency and is lossless, so it suits graphics and screenshots. JPEG is smallest for photos. WebP usually beats both at the same quality, and every current browser supports it. Use the quality slider to trade size against detail for JPEG and WebP.
- Why did my transparent background turn white?
- JPEG has no alpha channel, so transparency is flattened onto white when you export as JPEG. Choose PNG or WebP to keep it.
- Does editing reduce the quality of my photo?
- Cropping and rotating are done at full resolution from the original file, and the adjustments are applied once during export — so there is no repeated re-compression as you tweak the sliders.
